500 people evacuated from Azovstal
1 Donbass The UN Secretary General, António Guterres, reported that the UN and the International Red Cross Committee evacuated about 500 people from the Azovstal factory in Mariupol, from the city of Mariupol, and from the nearby areas, during their joint operation. He didn’t specify the time period - the RIA NEWS reported. "In the course of a joint operation by the UN and the International Committee of the Red Cross, 2 convoys successfully evacuated about 500 people from the Azovstal factory, from the city of Mariupol, and the areas nearby, via safe corridors" - António Guterres stated on Twitter. 2 Donbass The DPR forces, supported by the Russian forces, continue their operation aimed to clear the Azovstal factory in Mariupol. The territory, controlled by the Ukrainian forces, is shrinking. On 4th of May, the special forces of the DPR captured the slag heaps above the Azovstal factory. It allows them to observe the factory, and correct the work of artillery and aircraft. Recently, the DPR forces entered the territory of ’Azovstal’ and captured several buildings. Their actions were supported by the Russian heavy flamethrower tanks "TOS-1A Solntsepek". A reported of the ANNA NEWS reported that during the inspection of the captured buildings - an underground bunker for about 300 people was found. In addition to the Ukrainian military, families of militants from the Ukrainian neo-Nazi ’Azov’ regiment had previously taken refuge in the bunker. 3 Donbass According to the Ombudsman of the DPR, Darya Morozova, starting from 29th of April till 5th of May, 99 servicemen and 99 civilians of the DPR were killed. 358 servicemen and 82 civilians were wounded. According to the information, published on the official website, the total number of deaths since the year of 2014 is 7232 people, including 104 children. 4 Germany - Ukraine Germany is considering to send the ’Cobra’ radar stations to Ukraine. Such radars would be able to significantly improve the accuracy of the ’Panzerhaubitze 2000’ self-propelled artillery that are being prepared for the delivery to the Ukrainian forces - the RIA NEWS reported with a reference to the German newspaper ’Welt’. Earlier, Ukraine has already asked to send about 40 Cobra radars. Germany can only send 3 to 5 of such radar stations, from the 19 available to the German forces. The ’Cobra’ radar is an artillery reconnaissance system. It allows to detect enemy mortars and artillery. The radars can detect up to 40 firing positions in 2 minutes. The cost of 1 such radar is 50 millions of euros. 5 Norway-Ukraine The Ukrainian forces began to install the anti-air missile systems ’Mistral’ on SUVs. Thus they hope to use the highly mobile short range anti-aircraft missiles. The air defense systems ’Mistral’ were recently transferred from Norway. France also planned to send similar missiles as well. The "Mistral" was made to cover the ground forces from hostile aircraft and helicopters, flying at low and extremely low altitudes. The French company "Matra" developed these missile systems. The combat range of the ’Mistrals’ goes from 500 to 6000 meters. The height range goes from 5 meters to 3000 meters. The maximum speed of the missiles is 1500 kilometers per hour. The flight time of the missiles is up to 14 seconds. After installing these air defense systems on off-road vehicles, the Ukrainian forces plan to create highly mobile air defense groups. 6 Russia Alexei Zaitsev, the Deputy Director of the Information and Press Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry, stated that in 2022, the march of the "Immortal Regiment" will take place in 88 countries. The march of the "Immortal Regiment" in 2022 will be held in Venezuela for the first time.
