An explosion of a Russian armored car in Syria
1 Syria The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that as a result of an explosion under an armored car in the Syrian province of Hasakah - 1 Russian serviceman died from the injuries, and 3 more were hospitalized. The ministry clarified that the armored car was damaged by an IED, on 9th of June, while checking the patrol route of the Russian military police in the Hasakah province. 2 Russia - Nagorno-Karabakh The Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova stated during a briefing that Moscow expects the demining process in Nagorno-Karabakh to be accelerated. She added that Moscow expects to resume the work of the 3-way working group of Russia, Armenia and Azerbaijan in Nagorno-Karabakh region in the near future. 3 Afghanistan 6 security servicemen died after a car explosion near a military base in Baghlan province, in north of Afghanistan. More than 10 people were injured - the TOLO News reported while citing their sources. The Taliban, reportedly, claimed the responsibility for the attack. 4 The USA - Afghanistan The Pentagon is considering the possibility of air strikes on the territory of Afghanistan if Kabul or any other major city is under a threat of being captured by the Taliban terrorists - ’The New York Times’ reported while citing their sources. It was reported that the Pentagon admits that the Afghan forces may be defeated in clashes with the Taliban. The US military is actively discussing what can be done if a swift US pulling "would bring serious difficulties, from the national security standpoint". 5 Iraq The Baghdad International Airport was attacked on Wednesday evening. The attack was carried out with 3 UAVs - the press service of the Iraqi Security Directorate stated. Earlier, the mass media reported that the ’Victoria’ military camp, where some American troops are stationed, was attacked. There was no information about the casualties or destruction. 3 missiles hit the ’Balad’ Iraqi Air Force Base, north from Baghdad, where some Iraqi F-16 fighters, foreign specialists, and employees of a US private military company are stationed. 6 Donbass The number of ceasefire violations on the contact line in Donbass has decreased in the recent weeks - said the Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson to Ukraine, and the Contact Group, Heidi Grau. She noted that the OSCE "continues to notice the use of heavy weapons, deployed in a violation of the withdrawal line". Earlier, the plenipotentiary of Russia in the contact group, Boris Gryzlov, stated that "those shelling cases in Ukraine aren’t random, but planned instead.
