This is a special program for the ’ANNA NEWS’. I am Constantine Reztsov. The USA and their allies are shifting to the level of cooperation with the ’Taliban’. The ’Taliban’ remains on the lists of terrorist groups around the world, yet it is forming a new Afghan government, and the whole world is watching from the outside. The USA and the NATO countries have been at war with ’Taliban’ for many years. However, the analysts point to the great chances of a cooperation due to the common threat, posed by the ISIS. The "ISIS in Khorasan" sub-group was behind the attack on the Kabul airport, which killed 13 American soldiers and about 200 Afghans. Also, in the recent weeks, the USA have partnered with the ’Taliban’ to secure the evacuation of tens of thousands of people from the Kabul airport. On Wednesday, the Pentagon hinted at such possibility, despite some caution. The US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin stated that the USA are working with the Taliban on a very narrow range of issues. "It’s hard to predict where things will go with regard to the Taliban in the future" - end of quote. General Mark Milli, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, called the Taliban "a ruthless group," but added that "in war you do what you must." When asked if the USA would cooperate with the Taliban against the ISIS he replied that ’’it is possible’’. The question "can the Taliban be able to stop ’ISIS’ in their own country" became a matter of serious international concern, especially after the terrorist attack at the Kabul airport. The ’Taliban’ claimed that the attack on the airport was the result of the presence of the foreign troops, and the extremely large crowds in the area where the NATO forces were responsible for the security. The ANNA NEWS follows the events. Stay tuned.
