The State Committee for the National Security of Tajikistan reported that during the border conflict with Kyrgyzstan 2 people died and 10 were injured on the Tajik side. Among the dead was an ambulance driver who came under fire by the Kyrgyz border guards. The ambulance carried the wounded to the hospital. The other victim is a resident of the village of Hojai, whose house was hit by an artillery shell. The Ministry of Health of Kyrgyzstan reported that 11 people were injured. All of them are servicemen. The conflict started when the residents of the border Kyrgyz settlements threw stones at a truck heading from Tajikistan to the Tajik enclave of Voruh, located deep in Kyrgyzstan. The driver got hurt. Later, the conflict between the locals has escalated into a shoot-out between the border guards. Currently the representatives of the state committees of national security of both sides reported that it is calm on the border. The shooting stopped exactly at midnight by the local time. That was not the first such conflict on the border line between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.
