1 Syria A terrorist attack took place in Damascus. The terrorists set up two IEDs near the presidential bridge, on the route of a bus, carrying Syrian servicemen. 14 soldiers were killed by the explosions, 2 more were injured - the SANA news agency reported. After the attack on the bus, a third IED was found and neutralized. Currently none of the terrorist groups have claimed the responsibility for the attack in Damascus. 2 Donbass As a result of a shelling of the Petrovsky district of the city of Donetsk by the Ukrainian troops, a local man was wounded, and hospitalized. A piece of a Ukrainian shell injured his back - the DPR mission in the Joint Center for the Control and Coordination of the Ceasefire reported. After the recent shelling by the Ukrainian troops on 21st of October - one 18 years old woman and a child were injured. 3 Syria On the night of 21st of October the American military base in the At-Tanf area was attacked by unknown drones. Supposedly, the attack was carried out by the pro-Iranian Shiia militia groups. A spokesman for the US command in Baghdad confirmed the attack. According to him - there were no casualties. It is still unknown if there was material damage - the TASS news agency reported. On the night of 13th to 14th of October the Israeli Air Force attacked the Syrian air base ’T-4’, in the province of Homs. The target of the Israeli aviation was the cargo, delivered to the Shiia militia fighters. The air strike was delivered from the At-Tanf area, controlled by the Americans. 4 Russia - Afghanistan The meeting on Afghanistan on Wednesday was attended by representatives from Russia, China, Pakistan, Iran, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and a high-ranking delegation from the Afghan interim government. After the negotiations, the participants made a joint statement. They called on the current leadership of Afghanistan to take additional measures to form a truly inclusive government, and to have friendly policies to the neighboring countries. The meeting participants expressed a concern over the escalation of the socio-economic and humanitarian situation in Afghanistan. They called for an international donor conference under the UN flag. They added that most of the reconstruction efforts in Afghanistan should be performed by those states whose servicemen have been present in Afghanistan over the past 20 years - the TASS reported. 5 Afghanistan For the first time since the Taliban came to power in Afghanistan, the Pakistani Foreign Minister, Shah Mahmoud Qureshi, has visited Kabul. Mahmoud Qureshi reported on Twitter that he was received by the Prime Minister of the Taliban-controlled Afghan government, Mullah Hassan Akhund, at the presidential palace in Kabul. They had a conversation regarding the relations between the people of the two countries, trade, and transit. Two sources reported that Mahmoud Qureshi called on the Taliban to take action against the Islamists that, supposedly, have carried out a series of deadly attacks, mainly against the military targets in Pakistan. The negotiations in Kabul also mentioned the fight against the ISIS, which threatens both countries. 6 The USA The US Department of Defense announced 3 successful test launches of hypersonic missiles. The launches were carried out on 20th of October, as part of the hypersonic weapons development program. The US Department of Defense didn’t specify the type of the tested missiles, but they described the tests as "carried out in the interests of the US Army and Navy". The launches were carried out at the NASA spaceport on Wallops Island, located on the coast of Virginia, east of the USA. The Pentagon added that the tests "demonstrated the advanced hypersonic technologies, capabilities, and prototypes of systems in a realistic operating environment".
