This is a special program from the ANNA NEWS, I am Constantine Reztsov. The ISIS has announced an attack on a power line that led to power outages in the Afghan capital, Kabul, and several provinces since Thursday evening. The terrorists detonated an explosive device on a power pole in the Shakardar area, in Kabul province - they stated on the Telegram. The Islamists called the attack on the power grid to be a part of their "economic war". The Taliban-appointed head of the energy industry visited the crime scene, and called for a swift restoration of the power grid. Afghanistan takes a significant part of the needed electricity via imports from neighboring countries, especially Uzbekistan. According to the experts, the ISIS appeared in Afghanistan at the start of 2015. The Taliban, which came to power a couple of months ago, are faced with the difficult task of clearing the Afghan territory from the ISIS members, just like the previous authorities in the past. Since August, the ISIS terrorists have launched several deadly attacks, including against the security forces of the Taliban, and Shiia religious sites. This month, the ISIS claimed responsibility for 2 major explosions in the north and south of the country, which killed about a hundred civilians. The ’ANNA NEWS’ follows the events. Stay tuned.
