The Syrian air defenses repelled Israeli strikes || Breaking News, 26th of July, 2021
1 Syria the deputy head of the Russian Center for the Reconciliation of the Warring Parties in Syria, rear-admiral Vadim Kulit, stated that a couple of Israeli F-16 fighters tried to make an air strike with two missiles on the Syrian province of Damascus without entering the Syrian airspace. The missiles were shot down by the Syrian air defenses. It was noted that the missiles were shot down by Russian AA systems "Buk-M2E", used by the Syrian air defenses. 2 The Gaza Strip The Palestinian mass media reported that the Israeli Air Force attacked positions of radical groups in the Gaza Strip. It was reported that the positions of those groups near the cities of Khan Younis and Gaza were attacked. Those groups are, allegedly, related to the so-called Palestinian resistance groups. No casualties or destructions were reported. It was noted that the Palestinian groups returned fire on the Israeli aircraft. The IDF press office stated that the air strike targeted a military base of the radical Palestinian movement Hamas in the Gaza Strip in a response to the launch of explosive and incendiary balloons at Israel. 3 Azerbaijan The Azerbaijani Defense Ministry reported that on Monday night, the Armenian forces did an intensive shelling of the positions of the Azerbaijani army on the territory of the Kelbajar region. The Ministry added that the Azerbaijani forces took "retaliatory measures". On Sunday, the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry reported about attacks of positions of the Azerbaijani forces with sniper rifles and machine guns in that section of the border with Armenia. 4. Afghanistan The TOLOnews TV reported that recently at least 43 civilians were murdered in the Afghan province of Ghazni by the Taliban. It was noted that the houses of the murdered civilians were destroyed. The Ariana News TV reported that the Taliban killed 5 members of the state security forces in Kabul. It was noted that they were tortured before their death. Earlier, the head of the US Central Command in Kabul, General Kenneth Mackenzie, stated that the USA will once again launch air strikes in support of the armed forces of Afghanistan if the Taliban continues the offensive that they have been conducting since early May - the ’’France-Presse’’ quoted his words. 5 Afghanistan The TOLOnews TV reported that a new round of negotiations on a peaceful settlement of the situation in Afghanistan between the government in Kabul and the Taliban representatives may take place in early August. The TOLOnews quoted a source stating that within the framework of the dialogue, it is planned to discuss the basic principles for conducting the peace negotiations between the parties, since the complete pulling of the US forces from Afghanistan can be completed by the end of August. During the previous round of negotiations, which took place in Doha, the parties couldn’t agree on a common solution for a peaceful settlement, and agreed to continue the negotiations later. 6 Tunisia Anti-governmental actions took place in Tunisia in several cities - the local mass media reported. The protesters demanded the dissolution of the parliament, a change in the political regime, and a change in the epidemiological and socio-economic situation in the country. The Tunisian President, Kais Said, announced the suspension of the parliamentary activities, lifted the immunity of all MPs, and dismissed the prime minister. After that, troops were sent to the capital of the country. In some cities, the supporters of the president have smashed the offices of the An-Nahda party, whose leader is the speaker of parliament.
