The USA are ready to compensate for the UAV strike on Kabul
This is a special program from the ’ANNA NEWS’. I am Constantine Reztsov. The USA want to compensate the relatives of civilians who died in a mistaken drone attack in Afghanistan. The Pentagon stated on Friday that the US authorities will allow the remaining 10 civilian Afghans to travel to the US if they wish to leave their country. 7 children were killed during a UAV attack in Kabul. The proposal for a compensation for the loss of life was passed on Thursday during a meeting between the US Secretary of State for the Defense Policy, and the head of the ’’Nutrition and Education International’’ organization, which is active in Afghanistan. One of the civilians, killed in Kabul, was a relief worker of the organization. In late August, the US military admitted that 10 innocent civilians died in a drone attack on a target in Kabul which they believed to be linked to the ISIS, responsible for the bombing attack a few days earlier at the Kabul airport. That attack killed 13 US soldiers and dozens of Afghans. "The drone attack was a tragic mistake" - General Kenneth Mackenzie, the head of the US Central Command, admitted. According to him, the US military believed that the attacked vehicle posed a danger to American soldiers and people waiting to leave the Kabul airport. The US Army investigation revealed that the information about the target was incorrect. The US Secretary of Defense, Lloyd Austin, apologized for the drone attack, and expressed his condolences to the relatives. The ’’ANNA NEWS’’ follows the events. Stay tuned!
