There are heavy battles for Zaitsevo
1 Donbass An active battle near the village of Zaitsevo, north of Gorlovka, is taking place at the moment. Gorlovka is under a heavy shelling - the local mayor, Ivan Prikhodko, reported. "There is an intense battle near Zaitsevo. The enemy is shelling the town randomly in order to distract the artillery of the allied forces. We ask everyone to stay in cover, and limit the movements around the town as much as possible" - he stated on his Telegram channel. The settlement of Solnechniy was under fire as well. A shell hit the local mall ’Bermuda’. The DPR representatives in the Ceasefire Center reported that at 05:35, six 155mm shells were fired at the settlement - the RIA NEWS reported. 2 Ukraine Petr Kotin, the head of ’Energoatom’ - the operator company of the Ukrainian nuclear power plants - stated that the Russian specialists who control the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant are preparing to connect it to the Russian power grid. He did not rule out that Ukrainian forces could fire at the power lines at the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant if they are connected to the Russian power grid. "It would be the right decision from the Ukrainian point of view to cut off the powerlines, if they are connected. I think our forces will be ready to do this, if needed" - he stated during an interview, published on website of the ’RBC Ukraine’. 3 Russia Russia asked to gather an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council for the situation in the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant. The nuclear power plant was recently attacked by the Ukrainian missiles. Back on 4th of March, Russia took control of a part of Zaporozhye, and the Europe’s largest nuclear power plant on the south bank of the Dnieper River, in the town of Energodar. The local experts are still working inside the power plant. Back in spring, the Ukrainian forces tried to make a dangerous provocation on the territory of the power plant. The IAEA often requires an access for the international inspectors to inspect the high-risk facility. However, the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant is close to the frontline, which makes such checks dangerous. Ukraine has opposed the I-A-E-A verification in the past. Ukraine would be even more against it today. On 7th of August Ukrainian forces attacked the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant with MLRS ’’Uragan’’. The administrative buildings and a dry storage facility for the spent nuclear fuel was attacked instead of the nuclear power plant building. 4 Turkey - Ukraine Turkey delivered APCs ’’Kipri’’ to Ukraine. The fact of receiving the Turkish APCs was confirmed by Yuri Misyagin, a deputy of the Ukrainian Parliament from the ruling political party ’’Servant of the People’’. He stated that Ukraine received 50 APCs. 150 more will come later. "2 brigades of marines are using 50 APCs right now. We are waiting for 150 more. The APCs have machine guns that can be manually operated, and rotated at 360 degrees. The APCs also have built-in fire extinguishing systems, good mine protection, and B6 armor. The APCs can carry 12 fighters plus the crew" - he reported. A video of APCs, delivered to Ukraine, was published recently. Judging by the desert color of most of the APCs - the vehicles were used by the Turkish Army. 5 Hungary - Slovakia The Slovak newspaper ’Pravda’ reported that Russia and Ukraine have accepted an offer from the Hungarian oil and gas concern ’MOL’ and the oil refinery ’Slovnaft’, located in Bratislava, to pay for the transit of the Russian oil through the southern branch of the oil pipeline ’Druzhba’. The oil pumping through the southern branch of Druzhba should resume in the coming days - the TASS reported. The newspapers specified that the ’MOL’ paid for the oil transit through Ukraine, which suits the Ukrainian authorities. 6 China On 10th of August, China stated that China will make efforts to resolve the issue of the unification with Taiwan peacefully. China will retain the right to use force if necessary. China promised many benefits to the people of Taiwan after the reunification. The State Council Information Bureau of China stated that China will do its best to achieve a peaceful reunification. However, China reserves the right to take all the necessary measures to protect itself against an external interference and separatist activities. China has stated that none of the aforementioned is being directed against the Chinese in Taiwan. "We won’t renounce the use of force, and we reserve the right to take all the necessary measures. The use of force will be the last resort in case of unforeseen circumstances" - the White Book stated. "No foreign interference in the Taiwanese affairs will be tolerated" - the Chinese leadership added - "We will prevent any attempt to divide our country. The historical goal of the reunification of our homeland must, and will be realized" - the text stated. Constantine Reztsov, specially for the ANNA NEWS.
