Allied forces entered Soledar // Military exercises started in Australia
"On the morning of 16th of August a military warehouse near the village of Dzhankoy suffered from a sabotage" - the Russian Ministry of Defense reported. Nobody was seriously hurt. "The necessary measures are being taken to eliminate the consequences of the sabotage" - the Russian Ministry of Defense clarified. ’’Some damage was inflicted on the civilian infrastructure, such as power lines, power plants, railway tracks, and residential buildings’’ - the RIA NEWS reported. The head of Crimea, Sergei Aksyonov, stated that 2 civilians received minor and moderate injuries. The area of the incident was closed. About 2,000 people were evacuated. The city of Donetsk was attacked with heavy NATO weapons, dozens of shells were used. Several shells hit the Kievsky district. A local man was wounded in the Kirovsky district. 12 Ukrainian shells hit the town of Gorlovka. 3 people died in the city, including a child. 8 people, including children, were injured. The defense system of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant, located in the town of Energodar, was enhanced due to a possible attempt by the Ukrainian forces to attack the strategic object. The Russian Ministry of Defense recently stated that Ukraine does have such plan. The situation around the station remains uneasy. The Ukrainian attacks haven’t stopped for a month by now. Energodar was attacked again on 18th of August. The power station wasn’t damaged. ’’The allied forces left the Soledar industrial area and entered the city itself. Several streets were captured" - an officer of the LPR’s People’s Militia, Andrey Marochko, reported. The Russian, the LPR, and the DPR forces liberated 2 settlements - the town of Zaitsevo and the village of Dacha - the DPR’s Territorial Defense HQ reported. The urban-type settlement of Zaitsevo is located north from the city of Gorlovka, one of the largest cities in the Donetsk agglomeration. The Ukrainian forces often attack the city of Gorlovka. On 19th of August, the military training ’’Pitch Black’’, involving a number of countries of the region, members of the NATO, and their allies, have started in Australia - the Australian Defense Department reported. The air force training will be held for 21 days in the north and north-east of Australia. More than 2,500 servicemen and about 100 aircraft from the Australian, US, UK, French, German, Japanese, Indian, Indonesian, Singaporean and South Korean air forces will be involved. Canada, the Netherlands, Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines, the United Arab Emirates, and New Zealand will only be represented by ground personnel. The Chinese forces will take part in the strategic command training ’’Vostok 2022’’ in Russia, which will last from 30th of August till 5th of September - the Chinese Ministry reported on 17th of August. The document noted that the training will promote "friendly cooperation between the armed forces of all countries, as well as increasing the level of strategic interaction between all parties, and to enhance the ability to respond to various security threats. The training is not related to the current international and regional situation" - the Chinese Ministry of Defense specified. In addition to China and Russia - Belarus, India, Tajikistan, and Mongolia will take part in the exercises - the TASS reported. While all the attention of the global mass media is concentrated on Ukraine - the situation in north of Syria has escalated. On 16th of August the Turkish Air Force carried out several air strikes against the Syrian forces in the province of Aleppo, near the settlements of Tel Rifat and Kobani. 3 servicemen were killed, 6 were injured - the Syrian news agency ’SANA’ reported. Currently, north and north-east of Syria is being occupied by Turkey. The Turkish authorities are using that area as a buffer zone against the Kurdish forces.
