1 Donbass The representative of the People’s Militia of the LPR, Ivan Filiponenko, reported that the intelligence service received an information about the preparation by the Ukrainian special services of a fake terrorist attack with many casualties among the civilian population at one of the industrial or social facilities in Kharkiv, Luhansk or Donetsk regions - the regions that have dangerous industrial production. Earlier it became known about the information campaign against Donbass, code-named "Crushing sword", conducted by Ukraine with the support from the Western partners - the RIA News reports. According to the agency - the final decision on the time and place of the provocation hasn’t been made yet. 2 Ukraine Emmanuel Macron arrived in Kiev from Moscow, where on Monday he had negotiations with Vladimir Putin - namely he discussed, among other things, the situation with Ukraine. Earlier, he repeatedly spoke about the need for de-escalation and a diplomatic solution to the conflict in Donbass. According to Macron, the priority for him is to find a political way out of the crisis. He promised to inform Vladimir Putin about the results of the negotiations in Kiev. Macron will then fly to Berlin, where he will meet with the leaders of the "Weimar Triangle" countries - France, Poland and Germany. The German chancellor, Olaf Scholz, is expected in Moscow on the next week for top-level talks. 3 The USA During an interview with the German "FUNKE" editorial team, the head of the Munich Security Conference, Wolfgang Ischinger, stated that he believes that the USA should be taken to the Normandy format - directly or indirectly. He suggested that Russia is more willing to talk to the USA on the European security issues. He also spoke in favor of supplying defensive weapons to Ukraine. 4 Russia On 8th of February the director of the department of the international organizations of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Petr Ilyichev, stated that there is no need to deploy a UN peacekeeping mission on the border between Russia and Ukraine, since such measure won’t help to resolve the internal Ukrainian conflict. He added that such question is closed, and it isn’t a subject for a further discussion. 5 Syria The USA plan to launch a mass-media campaign to inspire the protest mood in the Syrian society - the representatives of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service reported. According the reports - the Joe Biden’s administration plans to keep the US military presence in Syria, and prevent the situation from stabilizing. The American intelligence services also plan to send some extremist cells in Damascus and nearby on targeted actions against the military personnel of Iran and Russia.
