1 Armenia The prime minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, stated that the head of the General Staff of Armenia, Onik Gasparyan, was relieved of his post, since the decree on his dismissal wasn’t signed in time by the Armenian president Armen Sarkissian, and at the same time - he didn’t appeal to the Constitutional Court. The Prime Minister’s press secretary, Mane Gevorgyan, reported that Nikol Pashinyan suggested to the president to appoint Lieutenant-General Artak Davtyan to the post of Chief of the General Staff. The press service of the General Staff reported that Onik Gasparyan called the statement of the prime minister Nikol Pashinyan about his resignation to be "unconstitutional". He decided to go to the administrative court. Onik Gasparyan added that he will continue serving the country and people in a different status. He called on the military to continue serving exclusively to the country and the people for the development of the military, and for the good of Armenia and Artsakh. 2 Armenia The Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced on Facebook that he held a meeting with the leadership of the Armenian Armed Forces. It was noted that during the conference, the representatives from the USA, China, Russia, Pakistan, Iran and India will be able to discuss a comprehensive approach to maintain the peace in Afghanistan. 4 Afghanistan The NATO’s Secretary General, Jens Stoltenberg, stated during an event organized by the Stanford University that the international coalition stays in Afghanistan to prevent the country from becoming a haven for international terrorists to plan and prepare their attacks against the USA and the NATO allies. "None of the allies would like to stay in Afghanistan for longer than necessary. But we won’t leave too early either, because then Afghanistan might become a haven for the terrorists once again" - Jens Stoltenberg explained, and called on all NATO countries to carefully coordinate their further actions in this direction. He added that the NATO countries "support the efforts of the Joe Biden’s team to find a peaceful solution within the framework of the negotiation process". 5 Libya The Libyan House of Representatives passed a vote of confidence to the new Government of National Unity headed by Abdel Hamid Dbeiba - the ’218 TV’ reported live from Sirt. 134 deputies were at the meeting. 132 voted ’’for’’, 2 abstained, and 36 were absent. The Speaker of the Parliament, Akila Saleh Isa, stated that "the mandate of this Cabinet expires on 24th of December, 2021, the day when the presidential and parliamentary elections are to be held in Libya". The government will include 27 ministers, 6 state ministers, and 2 deputy prime ministers. The posts of foreign and defense ministers are still empty. 6 Russia The Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia, Andrei Rudenko, stated that the next meeting of the leaders of the "Norman Four" - Germany, France, Russia and Ukraine - isn’t being planned since not all basic conditions, necessary for such meeting, have been met. He noted that contacts between the assistants of the leaders of the 4 countries continue in a working order. On Tuesday, the Ukrainian president Vladimir Zelensky stated that the preparations for a meeting of the leaders of the ’Normandy Four’ are under way.
