Israel attacked Lebanon Breaking News, 20th of July, 2021
1 Syria The ’’SANA news’’ agency reported that the Syrian air defenses repelled an Israeli air force attack near the city of Al-Safir, south-east of Aleppo. It was reported that the Syrian air defenses hit most of the air targets. The ’’Al-Hadath’’ TV reported that weapons depots, belonging to the pro-Iranian Shia groups that are fighting on the side of the Syrian army, were attacked as well. It was noted that there were casualties among the Shia militias. The ’’Al Mayadeen’’ TV reported that a research center near Aleppo was attacked as well. 2 Lebanon - Israel The IDF Press Office reported that 2 rockets were fired at the north of Israel from Lebanon. It was noted that 1 rocket was intercepted by the "Iron Dome" air defense systems. The 2nd fell in an open area in Israel. In response to the rockets, the IDF attacked the Lebanese territory. No damage or casualties were reported. 3 Iraq On Monday evening a powerful explosion took place in Baghdad. The terrorist attack killed 30 people. About 60 were injured - the ’’Al Arabiya’’ reported. The explosion took place in a busy market, and caused a great destruction. The Iraqi police have confirmed that an IED was used in the attack. The local mass media reported with a reference to the police that there is an information that it was a female suicide bomber. A belt with explosives was attached to her body. The Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kazimi ordered an urgent investigation of all the circumstances of the incident. No group has claimed the responsibility for the attack yet. 4 Afghanistan The Afghan mass media reported that several rockets were fired at the presidential palace in Kabul, during Eid al-Adha prayers, attended by the Afghan President Ashraf Ghani and other high ranking people. The rockets exploded near the presidential palace. The ’’1TV’’ reported that 3 explosions were heard near the palace. There is no information about the victims yet. 5 Turkey The Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated that Ankara is ready to take over the management of the Kabul airport, if Washington provides the necessary support. According to Erdogan - a new era is starting in and around Afghanistan. The Turkish President added that he intends to discuss the situation in Afghanistan with the Taliban. 6 Armenia - Azerbaijan The Armenian Defense Ministry reported about a shelling from the Azerbaijani Forces on the Yeraskh section of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border. It was reported that the shelling was conducted from firearms and mortars. The Azerbaijani Defense Ministry reported about a shelling of the Nakhichevan section of the state border from Armenia. It was noted that the shelling was suppressed by a return fire. As a result of the shelling, an Azerbaijani serviceman was wounded. He was hospitalized.
