Missile strikes on Syria
The deputy head of the Russian Center for the Reconciliation of the Warring Parties in Syria, Rear-Admiral Vyacheslav Sytnik, announced that the Russian air defenses repelled an attack on the airbase ’Khmeimim’. The shelling, reportedly, took place on the evening of 9th of February. The shelling was carried out from the territory of the Idlib DMZ, currently controlled by the illegal armed groups. It was noted that there were no injuries or material damage. The Russian airbase operates as usual. The ’’Sky News Arabia’’ TV reported that several missile attacks were launched against a convoy of Iranian weapons in the east of Deir ez-Zor province. The attack was, presumably, performed by the Israeli Air Force, shortly after the caravan crossed the Syrian-Iraqi border. There were no reports about the losses or other consequences of the air attack. The Syrian news agency ’SANA’ reported that pro-Turkish terrorists have resumed their attacks on villages in Hasakah province. It was reported that they "dug in at the areas they occupied in the north of the province, and then fired rockets on the residential buildings in the villages of Tel Tawila and Karabin, north-west of Tel Tamra". It was noted that as a result of the shelling "some damage was caused to the local property and agricultural lands". There is no Information about the victims so far. Lieutenant-General Rustam Muradov, the commander of the Russian peacekeepers in Karabakh, announced that an another exchange of PoWs took place in order to implement the agreement of the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia from 9th of November, 2020. The Russian peacekeepers delivered 1 prisoner by a Russian military aircraft to Baku, and returned 5 prisoners to Yerevan. Rustam Muradov added that the Russian peacekeepers will continue to contribute to the strict implementation of the trilateral agreement. The ’Hindustan Times’ reported that the Chinese army removed 200 tanks from the zone of contact with the Indian forces in the Eastern Ladakh, and deployed at least 100 heavy vehicles to transport the other military equipment from the area. It was reported that the Indian army is also pulling their armored vehicles from Ladakh, but at the same time - they remain on alert in case of unforeseen circumstances in the area. The withdrawal is planned to be over by Saturday. On 11th of February the Indian Defense Minister, Rajnath Singh, told to the parliament that New Delhi and Beijing had agreed to pull their troops out from the northern and southern shores of the lake Pangong Tso. Mass protests are still taking place in Myanmar. The nationwide protest began on Monday, at 8 AM. The local mass media reported that in the capital city of Naypyidaw, the police used water cannons to disperse the protesters. There was no information about victims after the clashes with the police, or as a result of their use of water cannons. Footage has been posted on the social media on which several people were injured as a result of the use of water cannons by the police.
