New attacks on Saudi Arabia
1 Saudi Arabia The Saudi Press Agency reported while citing their source in the Saudi Energy Ministry that on Thursday one of the oil products distribution station in Saudi Arabia was attacked. The attack took place at about 21:00, in Jizan. A fire broke out at one of the fuel storage facilities. No-one was injured. Earlier, the ’Al Arabiya’ TV reported that on Thursday, the Saudi air defense forces intercepted 7 drones with bombs, launched by the rebels from the Yemeni movement ’Ansar Allah’. It was reported that the target of the attacks were 2 universities in the provinces of Najran and Jizan, as well as the settlement of Khamis Mushait. The ’Sky News Arabia’ TV reported that the ’Ansar Allah’ also fired a ballistic missile from Sana’a, but the missile fell in the Yemeni province of Jawf. The spokesman of the ’Ansar Allah’, Brigadier General Yahya Saria, announced the start of new attacks on the territory of Saudi Arabia - the ’Al-Masirah’ TV quoted his words. Several sites of the Saudi ’Aramco’ oil company were reportedly attacked. The attacks were carried out by 12 UAVs and 8 missiles. Another 6 UAVs attacked the military targets in the Saudi provinces of Asir and Najran. Yahya Saria announced that the ’Ansar Allah’ will carry out their operations as long as the blockade of Yemen continues. 2 the DPRK North Korea tested 2 new tactical guided missiles on 25th of March - the central North Korean newspaper ’Rodong Sinmun’ reported. It was stated that the new missiles, which can carry a warhead of up to 2.5 tons, flew for about 600 km before falling at the given point in the Sea of Japan. The ’Rodong Sinmun’ reported that the DPRK leader, Kim Jong-un, wasn’t at the launch site. The Japanese Defense Minister Nobuo Kishi stated during a press conference in Tokyo that the Japanese military believes that North Korea launched 2 new ballistic missiles on 25th of March. He noted that they were first shown in January, at a military parade in Pyongyang, on the occasion of the convention of the ’Workers’ Party of Korea’. 3 The Arabian Sea On Thursday, a cargo ship of the Israeli company ’XT Management’ was damaged in the Arabian Sea by an Iranian missile - the ’12th TV’ Israeli news channel reported. The cargo ship was heading from Tanzania to India. It was able to continue sailing after the attack. The crew wasn’t injured. ’The Times of Israel’ reported that XT Management’s cargo ship ’Lori’ was sailing under the flag of Liberia. It departed from Dar es Salaam on 21st February, and headed for the Indian port of Mandra. According to ’The Times of Israel’ - a missile attack on the cargo ship took place in the Gulf of Oman. The cargo ship received a minor damage. The cargo ship is expected to arrive at the port in India on 31st of March. 4 Myanmar The ’Associated Press’ reported that since 1st of February 320 people have died in clashes between the protesters and the military in Myanmar. 2,981 people were arrested or sentenced to jail. On 22nd of March the human rights defenders reported about 250 victims. On 23rd of February the Myanmar military confirmed the deaths of 164 protesters. The military expressed their regret. 5 Russia - The NATO The Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova called the statements of the NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg that Russia supposedly refuse to engage in a dialogue to be "a lie". During a press conference on Wednesday, Jens Stoltenberg stated that the NATO regrets that not a single Russia-NATO Council meeting has taken place since summer of 2019. According to him - Moscow doesn’t accept the invitation to the Russia-NATO Council. "A serious conversation was offered. It was suggested to not go into a politicized PR action, which is what our western partners are famous for. It was proposed to talk specifically, with the participation of experts, including military experts, on various topics" - Maria Zakharova explained and noted that these proposals are on the table of Jens Stoltenberg. 6 Russia A helicopter ’KA-32’ of the Russian Emergency Ministry crashed in the Kaliningrad region. The helicopter took off from Khrabrovo airport for a planned training flight. The helicopter was flying at low altitude. Radio contact with the crew was lost when ’KA-32’ was 5 km away from the city of Polessk. The helicopter crashed in the waters of the Curonian Lagoon. There were 3 crew members on board. 2 were saved, 1 died. The main department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in the region reported that the helicopter was serviceable before the flight.
