Terrorist attacks in Syria || Breaking News, 28th of July, 2021
1 Syria The Al-Hadath TV reported that the Syrian army repelled an attack of the ISIS terrorists. The terrorists tried to capture an oil rig located in the Jebel al-Bashari area. The clash killed 7 Syrian soldiers. Some servicemen were wounded, but their numbers weren’t reported. The ISIS terrorists retreated back to the desert after they lost the battle. 2 Syria The deputy head of the Russian Center for the Reconciliation of the Warring Parties in Syria, Rear Admiral Vadim Kulit, reported that the illegal groups, operating in the Turkish-controlled parts of Syria, attacked a vehicle of the Syrian army in the north of Aleppo province. They fired a guided anti-tank missile at the vehicle that was moving along the highway near the town of Tell Rifaat. It was reported that as a result of the strike, 1 Syrian soldier was killed, 3 were injured. 3 The USA - Syria The Politico reported that the USA have no plans to pull the US troops from Syria. The Politico quoted a senior US administration official. It was reported that about 900 servicemen will remain in Syria. They will continue to support and advise the Kurdish Democratic Syrian Forces who are fighting the ISIS. 4 Saudi Arabia The Sky News Arabia reported that the air defenses of the Saudi-led coalition destroyed 4 ballistic missiles that were fired by the Yemeni rebels at Saudi Arabia. Earlier it was reported that 2 missiles and 2 UAVs were intercepted as well. All the strikes were aimed at the southern province of Jizan. The coalition once again accused the Yemeni rebels of "deliberate attacking of civilians and civilian targets". 5 Armenia - Azerbaijan The Armenian Defense Ministry reported on the clashes on Wednesday night in the north-eastern part of the border with Azerbaijan. It was reported that Azerbaijani troops opened fire on Armenian positions, as a result of which 3 Armenian servicemen were killed and 2 were wounded. The press service of the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry reported that the Azerbaijani troops continue to take retaliatory measures in order to suppress the provocations, started by the Armenian forces on the night of July 28th, in the direction of the Kelbajar region. 2 Azerbaijani servicemen were wounded as the result. Later, Azerbaijan accepted the Russian proposal for a ceasefire with Armenia starting from 10:00, local time. The Armenian Foreign Ministry confirmed the ceasefire agreement on the border with Azerbaijan. 6 Afghanistan The 1TV reported that a massive explosion took place near a checkpoint in the Helmand province, south of Afghanistan. As a result, 2 police officers were killed, 4 were injured. It was reported that a car-bomb drove up to the checkpoint. No other details were reported.
