Spain withdraws its military from Afghanistan
1 Russia - Poland The Russian Defense Ministry has declassified some archive documents about the liberation of Poland from the Nazi Germany back in the WWII. The documents mentioned the heavy fighting of the Red Army, about the large graves of soldiers, and the commanders of the Red Army. The documents of the casualties of the 1st Ukrainian Front noted that in January of 1945, 18,000 Soviet servicemen died in Poland. In total, more than 600,000 Soviet servicemen gave their lives for the liberation of Poland. The war journals noted the fierce resistance of the Nazis in various cities in Poland. The documents showed that the Polish population greeted the Soviet soldiers as liberators. 2 Syria The Deputy Head of the Russian Center for the Reconciliation of the Warring Parties in Syria, Rear-Admiral Alexander Karpov, reported about the increased movement of military cargo and other equipment of the US-led coalition in east of Syria. Moreover, the group makes this conclusion with a reference to a certain anonymous military expert" - he explained and added that Russia expects the OPCW leadership to give a proper explanation of why the Technical Secretariat, which, according to the OPCW, is engaged only in technical analysis, openly goes beyond its mandate, and is making fabrications. 4 Spain "Spain will pull the troops from Afghanistan by 13th of May" - the ’El Pais’ newspaper reported. It was reported that the NATO mission "Resolute Support" is attended by 24 Spanish servicemen, and 2 translators. The ’’El Pais’’ added that more than 27,000 Spanish servicemen have participated in the mission in Afghanistan for almost 20 years. In total, Spain has spent more than € 3.5 billions of euros on the campaign. 5 Ukraine The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces announced that Ukraine will take part in some events of the NATO multinational exercises "Defender of Europe - 21". The military exercises began in Estonia, with the landing of US airborne troops, and artillery firing with precision-guided ammo as part of the "Fire Shock" exercise. The military exercises involve about 2000 troops from 16 NATO countries in Europe. It was noted that most of the military exercises will be held in the Balkan and Black Sea regions. 6 Azerbaijan The President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, signed a decree declaring the city of Shusha the cultural capital of Azerbaijan. It was noted that the decision was made to ’’restore the historical appearance of the city of Shusha, return the city to its former glory, and to renew the traditional meaningful cultural life, and to promote the city all over the planet as an example of the centuries-old rich culture, architectural and urban planning art of Azerbaijan".
