The Armed Forces of Ukraine fired at an oil depot in Makeevka
1 The DPR The Ukrainian military attacked an oil depot in the village of Makeevka with MLRS "Smerch" - the DPR office in the Joint Center for the Control and Coordination of the ceasefire reported. The Ministry of Emergency Situations of the DPR deployed an emergency response HQ at the oil depot. 4 oil tanks with a capacity of 5000 tons each are on fire. According to the aforementioned HQ - as a result of the shelling 1 person was killed, and 11 were injured. The city of Donetsk was under fire as well - namely the Kirovsky district of the city. 1 person died, 7 were injured. 1 rocket hit an area close to a bus stop. At that moment it was empty of civilians. 1 bus driver was injured - he had not yet managed to get on his route. The investigators are studying the damaging elements, found at the site of the rocket hit. The village of Yasinovataya was under fire as well. 1 person died, 5 were injured. 2 Ukraine The situation at the ’Azovstal’ factory in the city of Mariupol, where some Ukrainian militants hold positions, remains the same. Sometimes the Ukrainian military try to open fire from the factory - the Russian presidential spokesman, Dmitry Peskov, stated. In a conversation with reporters he reminded that Vladimir Putin canceled the assault on the factory. He underlined that there are occasional skirmishes when the Ukrainian fighters move into their firing positions. Those attempts end quickly. While commenting on the course of the negotiations with the Ukrainian representatives, Dmitry Peskov stated that "it is hardly possible to report about any progress, rather - it is the opposite of progress". He mentioned the inconsistency of Ukraine - every day Kiev changes the position. Meanwhile, the Kremlin is picking up reports about the desire of Ukraine to leave the negotiations - the newspaper "Interfax" reported. 3 Russia The Kremlin denied the rumors about the announcement of mobilization on 9th of May. The Western mass media reported that, allegedly, on the 9th of May, Russia could announce a mobilization. The Russian presidential spokesman, Dmitry Peskov, stated that there won’t be any declaration of a war on Ukraine on the Victory Day. 4 Israel The IDF shelled the farmlands in central Gaza - the news agency "Wafa" reported. The attack took place on 4th of May, at noon. The IDF fired with heavy machine guns at a group of Palestinians in the Al-Wad area, north from the city of Khan Younis. The locals, who were planting wheat, were forced to leave the area. The local mass media reported that skirmishes between the IDF and the Palestinian militants have increased along the line of demarcation between Israel and the Palestinian territories. 5 Russia The Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman, Maria Zakharova, stated on 4th of May that the Israeli politicians ignored the problems of neo-Nazism in Ukraine for many years. “We can see it. We have repeatedly told to all countries, including Israel, about this problem" - Maria Zakharova stated, and reminded that the head of Russian Foreign Ministry, Sergei Lavrov, mentioned this problem as well. On 1st of May, in an interview to an Italian TV channel, he mentioned that the captured terrorists of the radical Ukrainian nationalist groups, such as ’’Azov’’ and ’’Aidar’’, have symbols and tattoos of the swastika and some Nazi battalions. 6 Europe The head of the NATO Military Committee, Robert Bauer, stated that the Russia-NATO Founding Act of 1997 won’t stop the NATO from expanding its military presence in the Eastern Europe. "At the moment, the general consensus at the political level is that we are not killing the agreement per se. But, it won’t stop us from taking the necessary actions" - Robert Bauer explained, and added that the military build-up in the Eastern Europe is aimed on the fortification of the NATO defenses.
