"We demand the USA to stop exerting a destabilizing influence on the situation in Syria, and to strictly observe the international law and the UN principles" - the statement concluded. 2 The USA The head of the press service of the US State Department, Ned Price, stated that Washington ruled out the possibility of normalizing the relations with the government of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. Ned Price added that according to Washington - the Syrian president has lost his legitimacy, and the Syrian government must change its behavior in order to find a way to end the conflict. Ned Price concluded that the USA continue to push for a political settlement in order to end the conflict in Syria, and find a long-term political solution. 3 Nagorno-Karabakh The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, stated during a briefing that Baku and Yerevan are showing a constructive attitude within the framework of the activities of the trilateral working group on Nagorno-Karabakh, chaired by the deputy prime ministers of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia. She added that the main task is to implement the agreements, reached at the highest level, on the unblocking of all economic and transport links in the region. "We expect that the same focus on the positive thinking and the search for the mutually acceptable points of contact will prevail both in the official comments, and in the media space of Azerbaijan and Armenia" - Maria Zakharova concluded. 4 Turkey The Turkish Foreign Minister, Mevlut Cavusoglu, confirmed that the negotiations on a peaceful settlement in Afghanistan will be held in Istanbul. "We are planning to hold a meeting in April. We are currently discussing the date and content of the meeting. Of course, it doesn’t really matter where we organize the meeting. However, in order to make it easier for everyone to take part in it - we will hold it in Istanbul" - the ’Anadolu’ news agency quoted the minister. Earlier, the Afghan mass media reported that Turkey will hold talks on a peaceful settlement in Afghanistan. 5 Russia-Afghanistan The Russian Presidential Special Representative for Afghanistan, Director of the Second Asia Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Zamir Kabulov, stated that all the participants of the consultations on a peaceful settlement in Afghanistan, invited to Moscow on 18th of March, have confirmed their participation to the event - the ’TASS’ news agency quoted Kabulov. He added that the US Special Representative for Afghanistan, Zalmay Khalilzad, also confirmed his participation. 6 Russia The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, stated that the meeting of the Russian Foreign Minister, Sergei Lavrov, with the participants of the consultations on a peaceful settlement in Afghanistan, planned in Moscow on 18th of March, are possible if the requests are received. Maria Zakharova added that the issue of forming an interim coalition government "should be decided by the Afghans themselves, and it should be resolved during the negotiations on national reconciliation. The formation of an interim inclusive administration would be a logical solution to the problem of integration of the Taliban into the peaceful political life of Afghanistan" - Maria Zakharova concluded.
