Ukraine intensifies their armed provocations
1 Syria The Syrian President Bashar al-Assad held a meeting in Damascus with the Russian Deputy Prime Minister, Yuri Borisov. Yuri Borisov congratulated Bashar al-Assad on his victory in the presidential elections, and added that Moscow expects the new government to quickly get involved in the work, since the difficult economic situation in Syria requires immediate solutions. Yuri Borisov added that Russia is ready to provide Syria with comprehensive aid in the restoration of peaceful life in Syria, as well as the military and humanitarian aid. 2 Armenia The Russian Ambassador to Armenia, Sergei Kopyrkin, stated that the preparatory work, carried out by the Russian peacekeepers, played an important role in the return of 15 Armenian soldiers from Azerbaijan. He added that Russia initially did, and still doing, everything possible to ensure that the return of Armenian prisoners is being carried out. On 12th of June the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry announced the return of 15 soldiers to Armenia in exchange for maps of 97,000 of antipersonnel and anti-tank land mines, planted in the Agdam region. 3 The USA The head of the press service of the US State Department, Ned Price, stated that Washington is preparing a dialogue on strategic stability with Russia. The USA are in the process of planning of the first meeting. He added that the US delegation will be headed by a high-ranking State Department official. Ned Price noted that it is planned to discuss future steps on the nuclear arms control, and other strategic matters. The US State Department spokesman added that Russia and the USA are capable of "reducing the threat level, and the threat of a nuclear war". 4 Iran The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps exposed and neutralized 3 "terrorist and counter-revolutionary groups" in north-west of Iran - the local mass media reported while citing the military. It was reported that they planned to carry out attacks before the presidential elections, which took place on last Friday. The elite Iranian troops have stopped their activity. 5 Somalia Terrorists captured a city in south of Somalia after the Ugandan troops from the African Union peacekeeping mission left it - the local mass media reported. On the night of 22nd of June the terrorists entered the city from different directions at once. The captured city is located 40 km from the locally important port city of Barave. The reason for the departure of the Ugandan troops from the city wasn’t reported. According to the local media reports, the Ugandan troops were supposed to replace the regular units of the Somali army. For some reason it didn’t happen. 6 Ukraine The Foreign Ministry of the DPR stated that Ukraine is escalating the provocations on the contact line. "The prolonged negotiation crisis caused by the blocking of all key issues on the agenda by the Ukrainian representatives is being escalated by brutal provocations on the contact line" - the DPR’s Foreign Ministry stated on their Telegram channel. The statement was made after 4 DPR soldiers died after Ukrainian attacks. It was noted that the DPR’s Foreign Ministry sent a note of protest to the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission.
