1 Belarus The president of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko stated in an interview to the ’’RIA NEWS’’ that the Belarusian and Russian military will soon conduct exercises on the border with Ukraine. Earlier the Ministry of Defense of Belarus reported about a military activity from the neighboring European countries and Ukraine. The ministry added that recently such pressure on Belarus has been especially visible, which is "very worrying and sad for Minsk" - end of quote. According to Lukashenko - the exercises will take place "in about two stages in the next couple of months. We are still making up these plans, but we will totally carry out the first stage in the winter" - he stated and added that everything is ready for the training. 2 Donbass This morning the Ukrainian troops shelled the town of Dokuchaevsk with IFV weaponry - the DPR office at the Joint Center for the Ceasefire Control and Coordination reported. "At 07:25 the Ukrainian troops opened fire on Dokuchaevsk from the village of Novotroitskoye. They fired 20 shots from the BMP-2 weaponry. 2 SPG grenades were fired as well. The information about the casualties and damage has yet to be received" - the DPR office concluded. 3 Ethiopia The Ethiopian troops regained the control over the important city of Lalibela, in the north of the country, by recapturing it from the rebels. “The historic city of Lalibela was liberated and cleared from the occupation by the ’’People’s Front of the Liberation of Tigraya"- the office of the Prime Minister of Ethiopia, Abiyah Ahmed, announced. It was noted that the government army took control over the city’s airport. The conflict in Ethiopia started in November of 2020, when the ’’People’s Front for the Liberation of Tigraya’’, an organization that was the foundation of many governments under the previous dictatorships, went into opposition under the current Prime Minister, Abiye Ahmed. The organization demands from the country’s authorities to not interfere in the affairs of the regions, and is currently trying to launch an offensive on the capital of Ethiopia, the city of Addis Ababa. 4 Belarus The State-run ’’Military-Industrial Committee’’ of the Republic of Belarus announced the first fire tests of the new MLRS "Fleita". It was noted that earlier this combat vehicle went through a cycle of running tests. The fire tests took place at the end of November 2021, at the Obuz-Lesnovsky training ground. The Ministry of Defense of Belarus reported that during the firing tests, the prototype of the combat vehicle confirmed the previously indicated characteristics. It managed to quickly take a position, prepare to fire, then fire, and then quickly change the location. The 80mm MLRS "Fleita" was created by an initiative. The combat vehicle is capable of striking enemy manpower, armored and unarmored vehicles, artillery, and other military targets both in open areas and from shelters. The main task of the MLRS is to provide a fire support for the ground forces and special operations forces on the battlefield. In order to simplify the control of the combat vehicles in a group, and for more precise destruction of targets, the "Fleita" vehicles have automated fire control systems "Alliance", as well as onboard navigation systems. The first prototype of this MLRS was created in 2019. The “Fleita” was demonstrated to the general public on 9th of May, 2020, during a military parade in honor of the 75th anniversary of the victory in the 2nd world war, held in Minsk. 5 China - The USA The ’’South China Morning Post’’ reported that China and the USA are preparing to hold a high-level military negotiations. The negotiations could take place in January, as a telephone conversation or a video-conference. According to the "South China Morning Post", the US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin will take part in the negotiations. His interlocutors will be his Chinese counterpart, Wei Fenghe, and the vice chairman of the Central Military Commission of China, Xu Qiliang. It is expected that the main topic of the negotiations will be Taiwan - the most sensitive matter of the Chinese-American relations. Beijing and Washington will also discuss the arms control - the TASS reported. 6 Russia Dmitry Peskov, the spokesman of the Russian president, stated that Russia is free to place any military facilities on its own territory, since it is a sovereign right of the state. Earlier, the press service of the Eastern Russian Military District reported that the coastal missile systems "Bastion" of the Pacific Fleet took up a duty on the Kuril island of Matua for the first time. "The planning of the placement of the systems is being carried out by our defense department. All of it is being reported, and agreed with, the supreme commander-in-chief" - Dnitry Peskov specified.
