The Ukrainian forces shelled Donetsk
1 Ukraine Igor Konashenkov, a representative of the Russian Defense Ministry, reported on 14th of July that the Russian fighter jets shot down Ukrainian airplanes Su-24 and MiG-29. The Russian anti-air forces destroyed 12 Ukrainian UAVs. 2 Tochka-U ballistic missiles and 6 rockets from MLRS ’’Uragan’’ were intercepted as well. The Russian forces struck Ukrainian military equipment, command posts, and ammo depots. The Ukrainian nationalistic groups have cases of in-fight with the use of weapons. On 13th of July, more than 200 militants from the 226th Ukrainian nationalist formation "Kraken" refused to obey the orders of their high command to move to the town of Kramatorsk. They announced their relocation to the Kharkov city defenses. During the following fight with their commanders, and the firefight after the fistfight, 6 militants were killed. Meanwhile the Russian forces continue to carry out strikes at military targets in Ukraine. Several Ukrainian MLRS were destroyed near the city of Slavyansk, plus 1 platoon of MLRS near the village of Nikolaevka, in the DPR. Also 1 platoon of US-made M-777 artillery pieces, right on their firing positions, in the village of Pervomaisky, in the Kharkov Oblast. 2 Ukraine "In the early autumn of 2022, a referendum will be held on the entry of the Zaporozhye region into Russia" - the head of the military-civilian administration of the Zaporozhye region, Evgeny Balitsky, stated on 14th of July. The decision was made after the repeated requests from the labor collectives of the region. Zaporozhye plans to become a region of Russia, not a separate republic. A member of the main council of the regional administration, Vladimir Rogov, recently stated that the Zaporozhye region can receive security guarantees only as a part of Russia. Thus, the accession referendum will be held despite the attempts of Ukraine to prevent it. 3 Russia Vladimir Putin signed a law on the economic support of the Russian forces and the counter-terrorism agencies that operate abroad. The document was published on 14th of July, on the official website of the legal information. The law gives the Russian government the right to decide on the introduction of special economic measures. The law allows the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the National Guard, the FSO, and the FSB to increase or decrease the volume of goods and services within the framework of the concluded contracts. The special measures of the Cabinet of Ministers provide an unbooking of the material assets of the state reserve, and a temporary reactivation of mobilization capacities and facilities. In case of an introduction of special measures - the legal entities, regardless of their organizational and legal form, and form of ownership, are not entitled to refuse to conclude contracts for the supply of goods, performance of work, and provision of services in order to support the operations of Russian forces and counter-terrorism agencies outside of Russia. 4 Ukraine The Ukrainian army opened fire on the center of the town of Izyum in the Kharkov region. There were casualties among the locals - the press service of the regional administration reported. The number of civilian victims wasn’t reported. The city of Donetsk, mostly the center, was under fire as well. There were dead and wounded. Almost the entire city took some damage. The number of victims is being specified. Meanwhile the Russian Air Force carried out precise air strikes on the locations of the national battalions and foreign mercenaries in Kharkov. 5 Hungary The Minister of Defense of Hungary, Christoph Salai-Bobrovnicki, ordered to increase the combat readiness of the country’s troops, and to conduct intensive exercises due to the events in Ukraine, and because of the influx of migrants from the south. "In order to protect the peace, I ordered the commander of the Hungarian forces, Romulus Rusin-Sendi, to increase the combat readiness of the troops". According to him, the training of soldiers will be intensified, the training itself will be accelerated, and more reservists will be called upon. He added that Hungary is facing huge security challenges due to the conflict in Ukraine and the violent illegal migrants that besiege the southern borders. Joe Biden also spoke about the Russian special operation in Ukraine. He called for making it a strategic failure for Moscow. According to him, Washington will continue to support Ukraine. Joe Biden stated that the Russian actions represent a challenge to the peace and stability. He also mentioned the US position on recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.
