It was assumed that it would be the start of a peaceful settlement of the Yemeni conflict. The fighting then resumed. In January 2022, the city of Hodeida was hit by air-strikes by the Saudi Arabian Air Force. The "Ansar Allah" carry out attacks on the territory of the Arab coalition in a response to the bombing of the Yemeni cities. 4 Russia The Russian Ministry of Defense announced that on 19th of February a strategic deterrence training will be held with launches of ballistic and cruise missiles. The training will be led by Vladimir Putin. The Ministry of Defense clarified that the training was planned to check the readiness of the military command and control bodies, servicemen of the missile forces, crews of warships and missile carriers, as well as the reliability of the weapons of the strategic forces. In January and February of 2022, a series of naval exercises are being held in all areas of responsibility of the Russian fleets under the general supervision of the Commander-in-Chief of the Navy, Admiral Nikolai Evmenov. The biggest of them are now taking place in the Mediterranean Sea. 5 Ukraine Despite the fact that the promised Russian invasion of Ukraine never happened, some politicians and officials continue to panic. The local authorities in Kiev set out to conduct a mass evacuation. “There will be an evacuation. Only the critical infrastructure workers and troops will remain in the city. And also those who don’t want to leave” - said Roman Tkachuk, the director of the Department of Municipal Security of the Kiev administration. A commission on the evacuation of the population was made in Kiev. Kiev authorities intend to evacuate the residents exclusively to the areas within the city. The Western politicians actively support the rumors about the Russian threat. The US Secretary of State, Anthony Blinken, recently made a yet another prediction. According to him, Russia will find a reason to attack Kiev in the coming days. Moscow responded by calling on the USA to stop escalating the situation. 6 Germany The German Chancellor, Olaf Scholz, will host an online meeting of the G7 leaders on 24th of February as part of chairmanship of Germany over the group - Wolfgang Buechner, the deputy spokesman for the German government, stated at a briefing in Berlin. "The meeting serves to prepare for the G7 summit, which will be held from 26th till 28th of June, at Elmau Castle, in Bavaria" - he explained. The participants will discuss the foreign policy issues, including the geopolitical situation on the border between Russia and Ukraine - the RIA NEWS reported.
