Thus, the total amount of funds allocated by the European Peace Fund for the supply of weapons to Ukraine has reached 2.5 billions of euros. 2 Russia The Russian Minister of Defense, army-general Sergei Shoigu, inspected the Russian group ’Vostok’, currently participating in the special military operation in Ukraine - the Russian Ministry of Defense reported. During the inspection, he instructed the local commander to use high-precision weapons to destroy the Ukrainian long-range weapons, which are used to shell the residential areas of Donbass. The ministry reported that Sergei Shoigu noted the growing strike capabilities of the group ’Vostok’. The ministry added that Lieutenant-General Rustam Muradov, the commander of the ’Vostok’ group, reported at the command post on the current situation and the progress of the assigned combat missions, aimed to defeat the Ukrainian forces in his area of responsibility. 3 Donbass On 18th of July, the official representative of the People’s Militia of the DPR, Eduard Basurin, reported that the DPR forces completely blocked the road from the town of Avdeevka to the village of Konstantinovka in 2 places. They also half-surrounded the town of Avdeevka. According to him, a bridgehead is currently being prepared to begin the complete liberation of the territory of the DPR from the Ukrainian troops. On 17th of July the DRP’s Territorial Defense HQ announced the liberation of 253 settlements in the DPR by the DPR and the LPR forces, supported by the Russian forces. 4 Czech Republic The Czech Foreign Minister, Jan Lipavsky, stated that he plans to propose to the countries of the EU to reconsider the relations with Russia while taking into account the "new threats." The Czech Republic currently holds the EU presidency. According to him - a detailed discussion may take place during an informal meeting of the EU foreign ministers in Prague, at the end of August. “There are a number of fundamental principles on which the EU-Russia relations are based upon. Those principles must be updated and adapted to the new reality of the hostility. We need to be prepared for the Russian threats” - Jan Lipavsky explained. 5 Ukraine News about the Special Military Operation. The Russian precision-guided missiles hit a camp of Ukrainian mercenaries from the so-called "Ukrainian Foreign Legion".
