Peacekeepers in Karabakh / Coronavirus mutation
1 Nagorno-Karabakh The Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu stated during an expanded meeting of the Defense Ministry that during the presence of the Russian peacekeepers in Nagorno-Karabakh region there were no serious incidents. "To this date, not a single serious incident took place. Safe movement of the civilian vehicles along the Lachin corridor has been opened and maintained" - Sergei Shoigu said and added that under the leadership of the Russian peacekeepers, an exchange of PoWs between Armenia and Azerbaijan was organized on the principle of "all for all." Bodies of the dead soldiers were exchanged as well. 2 Nagorno-Karabakh The Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan expressed his gratitude to the Russian President Vladimir Putin for his help in return of the Armenian servicemen to their homeland. Pashinyan noted that 6 Armenian servicemen, who spent 70 days in forests, were found and evacuated. Pashinyan added that the work on the return of Armenian soldiers continues. "We have spoken about this issue with the Russian president dozens of times" - Pashinyan stated on Monday, during a meeting with the residents of the Sisian regional center, in the Syunik region. On Sunday, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Nagorno-Karabakh announced the return of 6 servicemen. 3 Syria The Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal Mikdad stated during an interview to the ’RIA NEWS’ agency that the Russian military presence in Syria is necessary. "We have achieved common victories in the fight against the terrorism. It doesn’t mean that the terrorism is defeated, since the USA continue to motivate the terrorist organizations to be more active in order to justify the US presence in this region. The fight against terrorism continues in various ways and means" - the Syrian Foreign Minister concluded. 4 Iran The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Said Khatibzadeh stated that the accusations from the US Secretary of State Michael Pompeo against Tehran about the shelling of the "green zone" in Baghdad were suspicious. Khatibzade explained that the statement was prepared in advance. ’’Iran strongly condemns his statement’’ - Khatibzadeh announced and added that "the attacks on diplomatic facilities are unacceptable". On Sunday, Michael Pompeo condemned the rocket attack on the Green Zone of Baghdad. He blamed the Iranian-backed armed groups for the incident. On Sunday, the ’Al Arabiya’ TV reported that the Green Zone area of Baghdad was hit with a rocket fire. It was reported that at least 3 rockets hit the "green zone". 5 Afghanistan The ’TOLOnews’ TV reported that the death toll from the explosion in Kabul on Sunday went up to 10 people. 52 were injured. Earlier the TV channel reported about 8 victims, and 15 injured. A strong explosion took place on Sunday, in one of the squares in Kabul. Presumably the target of the attack was a car with a local parliamentarian. The politician survived, but he was injured. None of the extremist groups operating in Afghanistan claimed the responsibility for the event. 6 the UK On Sunday the UK Public Health Service reported that a mutated variant of the coronavirus was identified in the UK in September. It was noted that there is no evidence that would indicate a greater mortality of the resulting mutation of the coronavirus in comparison with the original virus. The vast majority of cases of infection with the mutated virus have been reported in London, and south-east England. The WHO reported that a mutation of the coronavirus was also recorded in Denmark, the Netherlands, and Australia. The authorities of South Africa and Italy also announced the identification of the virus mutation.
