Russia launches missile strikes on Ukrainian cities

1 Ukraine The Russian forces are attacking Ukraine since the morning of 10th of October. Targets were hit in the cities of Kiev, Lvov, Ivano-Frankovsk, Rovno, Hmelnitsky, Kirovograd, Dnepropetrovsk, Nikolaev, Odessa and Kharkov. The power plants are the priority targets. At the moment the attacks are still on-going. 2 Ukraine The "Reuters’’ reported that the International Committee of the Red Cross decided to suspend their activities in Ukraine for security reasons on 10th of October. "Our teams have suspended their work today for the security reasons" - the ICRC spokesman told to the ’’Reuters’’ via an e-mail. The ’’Reuters’’ noted that the Norwegian Refugee Council has announced a temporary halt to their relief activities until it is safe. An air alert was announced on entire Ukraine for 10th of October - the TASS reported. 3 Belgium The Washington Post reported that the representatives of defense ministries from around the world will gather in Brussels for an urgent meeting as part of the ’Rammstein format’ due to the missile strikes on Ukraine. The Washington Post noted that the meeting will take place during this week. The exact day is unknown. The ’Ukrainian Defense Contact Group’ will be chaired by a US representative. The ’Washington Post’ reported about the upcoming meeting of the NATO defense ministers. Earlier, Vladimir Zelensky and the German Chancellor Olaf Scholz decided to call an urgent G7 meeting. 4 Donbass The creator and the first commander of the ’Vostok’ battalion, Alexander Sergeevich Hodakovsky, announced the arrival of the first mobilized servicemen at the frontline. They’ve arrived at the DPR, and are going to staff the units. Hodakovsky noted that, unlike the DPR and the LPR, where the fresh battalions and regiments were formed from mobilized people - the reservists of this day enter well-coordinated formations with combat experience. These groups have artillery and armored vehicles. At the beginning of the special operation those groups were lacking in firepower. Hodakovsky offered to send veterans from the ’Vostok’ battalion, who are undergoing rehabilitation after the injuries, to the training centers. They will be able to carry out preparation work with the mobilized servicemen for their combat operations. 5 Belarus The official website of the President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, stated that he agreed with Vladimir Putin on the deployment of a joint regional group of troops. "Due to the escalation on the western borders of the Union State, we have agreed to deploy a regional group from Russia and Belarus, according to our documents. If the threat level reaches the current level, as it is now, we’ll begin to use the Union State forces" - Alexander Lukashenko stated during a meeting on the security issues. He specified that the formation of the forces began at his order on 8th of October. Alexander Lukashenko stated that the situation near the country remains tense. The West insists that the servicemen of Belarus will take a direct part in the special military operation in Ukraine - the RIA NEWS reported. 6 Turkey The Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated that the Western countries were unable to reasonably assess the Ukrainian crisis. "While the rich people get richer, billions of people from Africa and Asia are deprived of an access to the basic foodstuffs" - he stated. "The inflation rates are at their highest level for the last 50 to 60 years. They are putting everyone in a difficult position, including the Westerners. Concerns about the food security are growing. During the last summit in Prague we heard the leaders asking how to survive this winter. We don’t have such a problem" - Erdogan stated. He added that the world leaders only think about what is happening at any given moment - the RIA NEWS reported. "They didn’t evaluate the events between Russia and Ukraine from the point of view of the common sense. Radical political changes will surely take place in the world very soon" - he concluded.
