Russia responded to the Czech Republic for the expulsion of diplomats
1 Russia - The Czech Republic Russia responded to the expulsion of 18 Russian diplomats from the Czech Republic. The Russian Foreign Ministry declared 20 Czech diplomats persona non grata, and they must leave immediately. On Saturday, the First Deputy Prime Minister and the Interior Minister of the Czech Republic, Jan Hamacek, announced the expulsion of 18 employees of the Russian embassy. According to him - they are members of the Russian intelligence services. The Czech authorities stated that the Russian special services were involved in the explosion at an ammo depot back in 2014. The Russian Foreign Ministry called the reason of the expulsion of the Russian diplomats to be baseless and far-fetched. The Russian Foreign Ministry stated that "Earlier the Czech leadership blamed the explosions on the companies that owned those warehouses". The ministry added that the Czech authorities are trying to please the USA due to the recent sanctions, and in this matter they "surpassed their masters from overseas." 2 The USA - Afghanistan Donald Trump criticized the decision of the current US President, Joe Biden, to pull the US troops from Afghanistan by 9/11. According to Trump - "it can, and should be done faster". He added that 9/11 should remain "a day of reflection and remembrance for those great souls that we have lost". Earlier Joe Biden announced that the withdrawal of the US troops from Afghanistan will be completed by 11th of September. The "TOLO news" TV reported that the Taliban consider this decision to be a violation of the earlier agreement, reached with the USA. 3 Armenia - Turkey An adviser to the Armenian Foreign Minister, Martha Ayvazyan, stated that Armenia isn’t negotiating with Turkey on the establishment of diplomatic relations, and on the opening of the state borders. In her words, the recognition of the Armenian genocide in the Ottoman Empire remains a priority of the Armenian foreign policy. Earlier the Armenian authorities have repeatedly stated that Turkey provided a military help to Azerbaijan during the war in Nagorno-Karabakh in 2020. Supposedly, Turkey deployed terrorists from the Middle East. 4 Russia - The USA The press secretary of the Russian president, Dmitry Peskov, announced that during a telephone conversation with Joe Biden, Vladimir Putin have discussed the information about the preparing assassination attempt on the President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko. Dmitry Peskov didn’t comment on the possible involvement of the US administration in the assassination attempt. He stated that "all the information was given by the special services at their discretion’’. The President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, stated that the security officers of Belarus, in cooperation with the FSB of Russia, prevented a coup d’etat that involved the assassination of the President of the country, and the capture of his children. 5 The EU - Russia During an informal video conference of the foreign ministers of the 27 EU countries, the Ukrainian Foreign Minister, Dmitry Kuleba, proposed "a step-by-step action plan to contain the escalation of Russia". Dmitry Kuleba stated on Twitter that he "informed his colleagues about the dangerous course of Russia towards escalation". He added that "the main element is the preparation of a new package of sectoral sanctions". Dmitry Kuleba spoke via a video link at a planned video conference of the EU Foreign Ministers. One of the main topics of the conference was the situation in Ukraine, and the escalation of the situation in Donbass. 6 Russia Russia will leave the ISS project by 2025, and create its own national space station - the Russian Deputy Prime Minister, Yuri Borisov, stated on air of the ’’Russia 1’’ TV channel. The ’’Roskosmos’’ stated that the ISS modules have exhausted their resource, and the decision to work after 2024 will be made based on the technical condition of those modules. According to Dmitry Rogozin, the head of the ’Roscosmos’, the Russian segment of the ISS will remain at the space station since it can operate after 2024. A transport and energy system with a nuclear power propulsion system will be created for the flights into the deep space. The development of the system started in 2010.
