Terrorist attack in Kherson // Kuleba on negotiations with Russia
1 Donbass The military operation of the DPR, the LPR, and the Russian forces near the town of Lisichansk continues. The villages of Zolotoe and Gorskoye were liberated. The Ukrainian forces left the city of Severodonetsk. On 23rd of June, the Ukrainian forces, under a threat of encirclement, left the line of Gorskoe-Zolotoe-Kamyshevakha. A significant part of the Ukrainian forces managed to leave beyond that line. Not everyone managed to get out, however. The Ukrainian military suffered losses in personnel and military equipment. At the moment, the entire area of Gorskiy-Zolotoye-Kamyshevakha has been liberated. 2 Donbass On the night from 23rd to 24th of June the Ukrainian forces crossed the Seversky Donets river and went to the town of Lisichansk, to reinforce the local garrison. The fight in that area continues. The Russian, the DPR, and the LPR forces are approaching the town from the south, and are trying to cut off the road, connecting the town to Seversk. The road is being hit. At least 800 Ukrainian servicemen surrendered near the town of Lisichansk - a source, close to the LPR People’s Militia, reported. "There are more than 800 PoWs. Many are wounded" - the source told to the TASS. Lieutenant-general Igor Konashenkov, the official representative of the Russian Ministry of Defense, recently reported that about 2,000 Ukrainian servicemen are completely blocked near the towns of Gorskoye and Zolotoe. 3 Ukraine As a result of a terrorist attack in the city of Kherson on 24th of June, an employee of the CAA, the head of the family, youth and sports department, Dmitry Savluchenko, was killed - the local administration reported. The car with him was blown up. The power of the explosive device was 300 grams of TNT - a source in the Russian security forces reported to the RIA NEWS. According to the source - the IED was triggered when the car started moving. "The explosive was planted under the driver’s seat. The yield of the IED was about 300 grams of TNT" - the source clarified. 4 Donbass From 17th to 23rd of June, 68 servicemen and 23 civilians were killed in the DPR. 349 servicemen and 76 civilians were wounded. The total number of deaths in the DPR for the entire period of the aggression from Ukraine is 7911, including 109 children - the ombudsman’s office reported. 5 Ukraine The Ukrainian Foreign Minister, Dmitry Kuleba, stated in an interview to the ’’Corriere della Sera’’ the following: "It wasn’t very wise for me to disclose our terms of negotiations with Russia, but today every point can be a subject of the dialogue". Thus he answered the question if Ukraine is ready to discuss "the borders until 24th of February, and refusing to return to the state of 1991". The press secretary of the Russian President, Dmitry Peskov, stated that a peace plan is possible only after Kiev fulfills all the demands of Moscow. The Russian Foreign Minister, Sergei Lavrov, stated that Kiev has signed its own unwillingness to negotiate with Moscow - the RT reported. 6 Belgium The Belgian Prime Minister, Alexandre De Cros, has warned about the EU-wide consequences if Germany encounters difficulties with the gas supplies. "If Germany gets bogged down in their problems - it will have a huge impact on all other European countries, including Belgium" - De Cros stated during a EU summit in Brussels. De Cros believes that Russia has entered into an economic war with the EU, and therefore the EU countries need to stick together. The EU Commissioner for the Climate Protection, Frans Timmermans, noted that currently 12 out of 27 EU states are suffering from the cuts in the Russian gas supplies.
