Syrian air defense systems repelled missile attack
The Syrian air defense systems repelled a missile attack from Israel on the outskirts of Damascus - the ’SANA’ news agency reported. The missiles were launched from the Golan Heights. The Syrian Defense Ministry reported that 4 servicemen were injured as a result of the missile strike on the Syrian territory. The IDF reported that the missile strike against Syria was a response to the launch of a surface-to-air missile that fell in the Negev Desert. Members of the Organization for the prohibition of chemical Weapons adopted a resolution that restricts the rights of Syria. The document was adopted during a vote at the conference of the member-countries. 136 states took part in the voting. The resolution was supported by 87 countries. Russia and 14 other countries voted ’against’. The document deprives Syria of the right to vote at the conference of the member-states, and in the executive council, to be elected to it, as well as to hold any events on its own territory via these conferences, councils, and subsidiary structures. The deputy head of the Russian Center for the Reconciliation of the Warring Parties in Syria, Rear-Admiral Alexander Karpov, reported that the Russian Air Force launched an air strike on a terrorist training base in Syria. It was reported that "according to the intel, the terrorists created a hidden base to the north-east of Palmyra. Formation of combat groups for terrorist attacks in various regions of the country, as well as the manufacture of IEDs, was carried out at that base. The Russian Air Force planes delivered air strikes that destroyed 2 shelters, up to 200 terrorists, 24 pickups with heavy machine guns, and about 500 kg of ammo and components for the IEDs". Alexander Karpov added that “the terrorists are being trained in the terrorist training camps on the territories not controlled by the Syrian authorities, including the Al-Tanf zone, which is controlled by the US forces". The spokesman for the ’Ansar Allah’ rebel movement reported that they have attacked the international airport in Abha, in south-west of Saudi Arabia. "A precise strike was delivered to an important military target" - the brigadier general wrote on Twitter. Yahya added that the attack was a response to "the escalation of the aggression, and the on-going siege of Yemen". Earlier, the ’Al Arabiya’ TV reported that the Riyadh-led Arab coalition intercepted and destroyed a UAV with a bomb, launched by the rebels at the city of Khamis Mushait, in south-west of Saudi Arabia. The political scandal between Moscow and Prague continues. The new head of the Czech Foreign Ministry demanded to return the diplomats, expelled from Moscow. If Russia won’t comply with this ultimatum - Prague promised to expel several more Russian diplomats. The Russian ambassador to the Czech Republic received a protest due to the expulsion of 20 employees of the Czech embassy in Moscow. The Czech government excluded the ’Rosatom’ company from the tender for the construction of a nuclear power plant. The position of the Czech Republic was supported by the head of EU diplomacy, Josep Borrell. He promised that the EU will stop the subversive actions of the Russian special services. The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, advised Josep Borrell to pay attention to the activities of the European special services, and not to blame Russia. Donald Trump criticized the decision of the current US President, Joe Biden, to pull the US troops from Afghanistan by 9/11. According to Trump - "it can, and should be done faster". He added that 9/11 should remain "a day of reflection and remembrance for those great souls that we have lost". Earlier Joe Biden announced that the withdrawal of the US troops from Afghanistan will be completed by 11th of September.
