Dmitry Polyansky explained that they tried to do so during the investigation of the alleged incidents with the use of chemical weapons in Syria, when all the blame was baselessly attributed to Damascus. "If we want to concentrate on a country aspects - then it would be only logical for the OPCW to also report, for example, on the progress of the destruction of the US chemical arsenal, which, for some reason, still goes on and on" - the diplomat concluded. On Wednesday, the UN General Assembly considered a draft resolution on a UN cooperation with the OPCW to investigate the possible use of chemical weapons in Syria. He insists that after the dissolution of the parliament - he will remain as an active Prime Minister of Armenia. He explained that Russia has verified the destruction of all chemical weapons in the country. He added that the USA are among the countries on whose territory the chemical weapons still remain. Dmitry Peskov noted that the accusations from Washington against Moscow are baseless, and the USA are trying to hide their own policy to further contain Russia. The US State Department previously stated that the basis for the imposed sanctions was the alleged use of chemical weapons by Russia against its own people. It was noted that the sanctions against Russia could be lifted 12 months after Russia fulfills certain conditions. Russia must promise to never use the chemical weapons against its own citizens, as well as to allow the UN inspectors, or some other international organizations, to visit the facilities that may be connected with the use or storage of chemical weapons.
