The operation to liberate Mariupol continues
On 14th of March the Ukrainian military launched a "Tochka-U" missile at the center of Donetsk. 21 civilians died, 37 were injured. Most of the victims were at the building of the Central DPR Bank - a memorial was erected in that area. People come there to honor the memory. Many can’t hold back their tears. The incoming missile was intercepted by the local air defense forces, but one cassette with shrapnel did work. “On the night of 18th of March, "Tochka-U" missiles with cluster warheads were launched from the territory, controlled by the Ukrainian nationalistic regime at the residential areas of the city of Melitopol” - the spokesman of the Russian Defense Ministry, Major General Igor Konashenkov, stated and added that "the Russian air defense forces repelled the missile attack on the civilians of the city." The operation aimed to liberate the city of Mariupol continues. The Russian forces and the DPR forces are fighting the Ukrainian forces entrenched in the city. They have set up positions among the residential areas, and they use the civilians as human shields. It significantly complicates the operation. The Russian and the DPR forces have repeatedly provided corridors for the evacuation of the civilians. The Ukrainian forces in every possible way prevented the exit of the civilians from Mariupol. A progress in the evacuation of the civilians was achieved only on 16th of March. On 16th of March, over 30,000 of people left Mariupol. Only 31 people left from the territory, controlled by Ukraine. The Mariupol airport is fully controlled by the DPR forces - the RIA NEWS reported. A meeting between Vladimir Putin and Vladimir Zelensky could take place after the work on an agreement, possibly in the coming weeks - the adviser to the head of the Ukrainian presidential office, Mikhail Podolyak, stated. He insisted that if the meeting between Putin and Zelensky takes place - it should take place anywhere but Russia. Mikhail Podolyak noted that the agreement on the disputed points in the negotiations between Russia and Ukraine on the peace treaty would take from several days to one and a half weeks. Checkpoints of the Russian Airborne Forces appeared in the Kiev region of Ukraine - the Russian Ministry of Defense reported. The Airborne Forces ensure the safety of the passage of military columns, and the movement of locals along the roads. The VDV forces deployed platoon strongholds on the most dangerous sections of the roads. Their objectives include the identification and detention of sabotage groups of the Ukrainian nationalists. The head of the Russian National Defense Control Center, Mikhail Mizintsev, stated that Ukraine is ignoring the desire of their own civilians to evacuate to the safe areas in north and east, in Russia. Their attempts are being blocked by the Ukrainian forces. The pro-Nazi government in Ukraine could receive nuclear weapons in the near future against Russia - Vladimir Putin stated during a meeting about the measures of socio-economic support for the Russian subjects. He added that components of biological weapons were created on the territory of Ukraine. The traces of those developments, which were carried out with a help of the USA, are being covered up. Putin added that Ukraine has been ignoring and sabotaging the Minsk agreements for 8 years. At the end of 2021, Ukraine publicly refused to implement the agreements. Putin added that the special operation in Ukraine is going according to the plan. The tactics of the Russian Ministry of Defense fully justified themselves. During the military special operation aimed to protect the population of Donbass, everything is being done to avoid the losses among the civilians. Putin added that Russia doesn’t plan to occupy Ukraine. The Russian forces prevented the Ukrainian neo-Nazis from capturing the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant. The facility is currently controlled by the Russian National Guard. Previously Ukraine gave up the hydroelectric power plant without a fight. The local para-military guards laid down their weapons and went home. A battalion-tactical group of the Russian Guard, together with other Russian forces, successfully repelled the attack of the Ukrainian neo-Nazis who were trying to recapture the station. The Russian forces had no loses. It was underlined that the hydroelectric power plant is a strategic facility. The workers are currently returning to their work places.
