The Russian-Chinese military exercises have begun
1 Syria The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that the terrorist organizations, based in the Idlib DMZ, carried out 8 attacks over the past day. The Russian Coordination Center in Khmeimim reported that 5 violations were committed by the ’’Jabhat Al-Nusra’’ terrorist group in the Aleppo province, and 1 each in Hama, Idlib and Latakia - the ’SANA’ news agency reported. 2 Syria 1 Syrian serviceman died, 3 were injured during an Israeli air attack on Tadmor, in the eastern province of Homs - the ’SANA’ news agency reported. The airstrike came from the At-Tanf area. On 8th of October the Syrian air defenses opened fire on the incoming Israeli missiles, targeted at the T-4 airfield in the eastern part of the Homs province. Most of the missiles were intercepted. 3 Donbass The Ukrainian troops fired at a school in the village of Zolotoy-5, in the LPR. The school building was damaged. Employees of the Representative Office of the LPR in the Joint Center for the Control and Coordination of the Ceasefire recorded the consequences of the shelling. 4 Russia A delegation of the Taliban representatives will visit Moscow on the next week. They’ll take part in the consultations on Afghanistan, in the Moscow format - the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, stated. She added that Moscow is concerned about the on-going terrorist activity of the ISIS in Afghanistan. “We mentioned the two-day visit to Qatar by a Taliban delegation led by the Afghan Foreign Minister. Negotiations with the representatives of the US State Department took place at that time" - she explained. The Moscow format meeting is planned for 20th of October. 5 Russia - France - Germany - Ukraine The leaders of the ’Normandy Four’ countries couldn’t agree on a new round of high-level negotiations. The possibility of holding a summit with the participation of the heads of diplomatic departments is still being discussed. Earlier the leaders of France and Germany took turns talking with the presidents of Ukraine and Russia. The 3 leaders noted the importance of the implementation of the Minsk agreements from 2015 as an uncontested basis for a peaceful settlement. The interest in the further coordination of the efforts of Russia, Germany and France in the Normandy format was underlined.
