Capture of terrorists in Syria
1 Syria - Russia Vladimir Putin stated during an interview to the NBC that the Russian military detained some terrorists in Syria who had "a specific mission against the Russian military facilities". It was noted that the terrorists came from the US-controlled At-Tanf zone. Vladimir Putin added that the terrorists are still robbing and killing people in the Idlib DMZ. The full text of the interview was published on the Kremlin website. 2 Syria - The USA The USA called for an immediate ceasefire all over Syria, and for a de-escalation of violence in the country - the US State Department spokesman, Ned Price, stated. The statement came after the reports of shelling of a hospital in Afrin, Syria. The USA denounced the shelling of the hospital, and stated that civilian infrastructure shouldn’t be the target of hostilities. Earlier, the Turkish Ministry of National Defense reported that after a shelling of the center of the Syrian city of Afrin and a local hospital by members of the "Kurdistan Workers’ Party", at least 13 civilians were killed, many were injured. 3 The NATO - Afghanistan The NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg stated before the opening of a NATO summit that the NATO will continue to train the Afghan military, and develop the transport infrastructure of Afghanistan, especially the airports, after the completion of the withdrawal process, in accordance with the agreement between the USA and the Taliban. According to him, "NATO won’t leave Afghanistan." 4 The NATO Brussels hosts a summit of the heads of state and governments of the 30 NATO countries, with the participation of Joe Biden. It was reported that the meeting will discuss the relations with Russia and China, an increase in the military spending, and the process of comprehensive adaptation of the NATO for the period up to 2030. The NATO also welcomes the upcoming meeting of the Presidents Joe Biden and Vladimir Putin on 16th of June. 5 Iran - Austria The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman, Said Khatibzadeh, stated that the parties that negotiate the joint comprehensive action plan on the Iranian nuclear program in Vienna agreed to lift all the sectoral sanctions. He clarified that those are financial, oil, and transport sanctions. He added that there are no agreements on anything outside of the nuclear deal, since "The Joint Comprehensive Action Plan is not subject to revision, and the full implementation of the plan is being discussed". 6 Yemen More than 150 people died after a boat with migrants sank near the coast of Yemen. Their bodies were found at sea - the local mass media reported. It was reported that the illegal migrants from Africa were heading towards the Yemeni cape Al-Ara. The boat collided with a fishing vessel and capsized near the coast. The ’Sky News Arabia’ reported that over 250 migrants were on board.
