Syria repelled an Israeli Air Force attack
1 Syria The ’SANA’ news agency reported that the Syrian air defenses repelled an attack of the Israeli air force at the south of the country. The attack came from Lebanon and the occupied Golan Heights. As a result of the missile strike on the outskirts of Damascus, at least 4 Syrian soldiers were injured. The Syrian air defenses managed to shoot down most of the incoming missiles, but a number of facilities were damaged. 2 Syria The Russian Center for the Reconciliation of the Warring Parties in Syria reported that as a result of the artillery strikes on 7th of April from the areas, controlled by the Turkish forces, on the settlements in the Tell Rifat district, in the Aleppo province - 5 civilians were killed. 6 people, including 2 children, were injured. The ’SANA’ news agency reported while citing the local sources that the Turkish troops and their allied Syrian opposition groups attacked the outskirts of the cities of Tell Rifat and Afrin, located in the Aleppo province, in north of Syria. About 200 rockets and artillery shells were fired at the districts where several villages are located. 3 Russia During a press conference after the talks with the Kazakhstan’s Deputy Prime Minister and the Foreign Minister, Mukhtar Tleuberdi, the Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov stated that Russia isn’t aware about a US note that stated that the return of the USA to the ’Open Skies Treaty’ could send the wrong message to Russia. He added that Russia is starting the exit procedure from the ’Open Skies Treaty’ since the European countries don’t give guarantees that, in the absence of the USA, they won’t share the data, obtained as a result of flights over Russia. On Wednesday, the ’Defense News’ reported that the US authorities sent a diplomatic note to their international partners at the end of March, stating that agreeing to return to the agreement that Washington claims Russia continues to violate would send Russia a wrong message, and it’d undermine the US position in the general arms control agenda. 4 India - China ’The Hindu’ reported while citing their Indian military sources that India and China are preparing to hold new talks on the withdrawal of their troops from the control line in Ladakh, and on the normalization of the situation on that section of the border. Negotiations are planned for this week. Sources of ’The Hindu’ reported that "during the talks, India will insist on an early withdrawal of troops from the mountain areas in Gogre and Hot Springs. And also seek a solution to the final withdrawal of troops in the Depsang Plain". 5 Donbass The Ukrainian president Vladimir Zelenskyy arrived to Donbass. He intends to visit the positions of the Ukrainian troops - the office of the Ukrainian president announced.
