1 Lebanon The ’LBC’ TV reported that the Israeli Air Force conducted scout flights over the southern Beirut. The Israeli planes entered the airspace over Beirut from the sea. The scout flights were made at low altitude over the areas of Bshamun, Shueifat, Aramun and Khalde, at the south of Beirut. An Israeli UAV was spotted in the skies over Beirut on Tuesday. The UAV hovered over the southern outskirts of the city for several hours. The ’Al-Watania’ news agency reported that on Tuesday the Lebanese military informed the command of the UN Interim Force in Lebanon about the Israeli violation of the UN Security Council Resolution 1701. The resolution established a ceasefire on the joint border. During the 3-way meeting at the local HQ of the UN peacekeepers in Al-Nakur, the Lebanese military insisted that "Israel continues to violate the Lebanese sovereignty in air, on land, and at sea". 2 Iraq The Iraqi Prime Minister’s spokesman for the military affairs, General Yahya Rasul, tweeted that the international coalition aircraft in Iraq has eliminated the terrorist, responsible for the attack on the Baghdad market on 21st of January. "An airstrike was carried out on the Abu Ghraib area, west of Baghdad, as a result of which the terrorist Jabbar Ali Fayyad, who led the terrorist actions in southern Iraq, was killed" - the statement reported. It was noted that the killed terrorist provided the transportation to the site of the attack for 2 suicide bombers. 3 Myanmar The "Kyodo" news agency reported that the Myanmar military released about 400 previously detained people, including MPs from the ruling political party ’’The National League for Democracy’’. They were ordered to return home. The leadership of the ’’National League for Democracy’’ party, including their leader, Aung San Suu Kyi, are still under house arrests. 4 Ukraine Vadym Rabinovich, a co-chairman of the Ukrainian political party ’’Opposition Platform - For Life’’, announced that his political party is starting an impeachment of the Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelenskiy due to the sanctions against the TV channels ’’112 Ukraine’’, ’’ZIK’’ and ’’NewsOne’’. He specified that "for the first time in the history of the country’s independence, the government turned off 3 leading TV channels". Earlier, Vladimir Zelenskyy imposed sanctions against the aforementioned TV channels and their owner - a member of the Ukrainian Parliament from the ’’Opposition Platform - For Life’’ party, Taras Kozak. The on-air broadcasting of the TV channels has been stopped. Vladimir Zelenskyy assured on Twitter that Ukraine supports the freedom of speech, and the sanctions were directed against the "propaganda, funded by an aggressor country". The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine reported that the Kiev police enhanced the security measures in the city center, and plans to restrict the movement of the road transport due to the possible mass protests. 5 The USA - Iran The US State Department Press Officer Ned Price stated during a briefing that the US authorities won’t negotiate with the Iranian authorities until Tehran takes first steps to implement the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action on the Iranian nuclear program. Ned Price added that Washington’s position is the following: if Iran returns to the following of their obligations under the treaty - the USA will do the same. "Then we will use that as a platform for a more lasting agreement that also addresses other areas of concern" - Ned Price explained and added that the USA "are ready to take the path of diplomacy if Iran resumes the full compliance with the treaty". 6 Jordan The Jordanian Foreign Minister, Ayman Hussein Abdullah al-Safadi, stated during the recent negotiation with the Russian Foreign Minister, Sergei Lavrov, that Russia plays an important role in ensuring of the stability in the Middle East. At the beginning of the talks, Sergei Lavrov proposed to discuss not only the two-sided relationships, but also the state of affairs in the Middle East and North Africa, the Palestinian-Israeli settlement, the situation in Syria, Iraq, and in the Persian Gulf. Ayman Hussein Abdallah al-Safadi supported the discussion of those topics. "I look forward to an honest and friendly dialogue on all the issues of interest, including the regional issues. I hope it will contribute to the stability and security in our region.
